I got in late last night after five glorious days as a music consultant and songleader clinician at Camp Solomon Schechter, in the woods near Olympia, Washington. Camp Director Sam Perlin invited me to come anbd spend most of a week with him and his crew to get a taste of Jewish overnight camp in session.
I love this place. If I had a kid, I'd send her here.
Beautiful setting, warm and friendly camp community and lots of RUACH (spirit)!
I cannot wait to go back again, which Sam assures me will happen at some point.
In other news: There are just seven days left to get involved with my recording project, "A Sliver In The Sky".
This open source Jewish music project will inspire communities to use my raw materials -- melody and chords -- to find and create "their" sound using the resources they have at hand. I hope and dream that this will be the starting point for collaboratiuon with synagogue and camp communities around the country. There are perks still available at every level, including a secret perk I've just added for the final week of the campaign.
To claim the SECRET PERK, go here:
There are only two of these available, so jump on them quickly!
