Sometime this summer, before the end of August, I need to make a video. Mostly I am doing this for a friend who wants to use it at his shul during High Holidays, but it would also just be a good thing to make and have on hand to showcase me and my music.
Locally, I have researched the possibility of having a professional videographer do it, and while he does great work he would also charge me four hundred dollars for his time and expertise.
I don't doubt that he is worth every penny.
I've seen his work and he's very good.
But I am flat broke, and have no way to raise that kind of cash right now.
So now I am turning to my Portland DIY network to ask for help.
If you or someone you know (in Portland, OR) is tech savvy, who owns and knows how to use a video camera and a computer and the software to edit everything into a roughly four-minute video, can you please introduce me? They really need to know what they're doing, because I'd be lip-synching with one of my songs and they would need to know how to line that up with the recording and edit video snippets and stuff. I don't own the technology and don't know how to use it, so I need some help. I am willing to pay a little something and/or trade bicycle repair for this work. And I am willing to work with a teenager who has their act together and really knows the technology. It does not have to MTV-quality, just good enough to how up decently on a big screen. Please talk to each other and then talk to me if you can help. Thanks so much!
