This year, I was, admittedly, at a loss for what I'd do. Until I had a very nice nap over the weekend.
A fragment of music was the last thing I dreamed before waking up, and the first thing I heard in my head right after waking up.
So I hung out with that fragment, expanded it, and realized it would be perfect for a new setting of the call to prayer (Bar'chu).
Here is a sneak-peek at the new setting, which we'll start using tomorrow at camp.
Bar'chu et Adonai ham'vorach.
Blessed are You, oh God, the One Who brings us all blessings.
Baruch Adonai ham'vorach l'olam va-ed.
Blessed are You, oh God, the One Who brings us all blessings now and every day.
Shavuah tov! -- (a good week!)
