Today marks the next link in a chain, a progression of creativity.
Today my third album becomes available online to the world.
It's not exactly like having a kid -- I don't know what that's like, actually -- but it is a little like setting something free and knowing that you can't make any more changes or excuses or stall tactics. Sooner or later, when you bring something into the world you have to turn it loose.
Online, where the new CD is already live and available (because when you set a release date of Saturday "night", music distros don't wait for Shabbat to be technically over), there's a page that shows all three of the CDs I've created since 2003.
Did I really do that?
Yeah. I did.
With a lot of help, of course; none of this would ever have happened without a TON of support from my loved ones and from smart people I met along the way who mentored me and helped me during my creative process -- and, let's be honest, from everybody who contributed money and time to help me bring this music into the world.
But seeing it in one place like this is mind-boggling.
And deeply humbling.
Tonight, I will celebrate by making music, live and online. Today, though, I will rest awhile, and bask in the realization that this is real, that it's a thing and that I've released it, sent it out into the world.
And I will spend my Shabbat in rest, and gratitude.
Thanks so much, everyone, and I'll see you tonight.
